Darts Atlas

About Darts Atlas

Our Mission

The mission of Darts Atlas is to promote the sport of darts across the world. By making it easy for people to discover, play, and run organized darts in their communities we will foster a culture of darts appreciation that can easily and quickly spread across the continent.

We want more boards in bars and restaurants. We want boards in recreation centers and in apartment complexes. We want to create interscholastic and intercollegiate leagues and we want to create the first truly national North American tournament series and development system, allowing players all over the country to participate in ranking events without flying thousands of miles, or without flying at all.

The Technology

Our platform eliminates all of the manual work from running and playing in darts leagues, tournaments, and matches. Once they have created a free online account players are able to find local events and venues, register for tournaments and leagues, and maintain a lifetime of detailed match statistics directly on Darts Atlas.

While players will enjoy stat tracking and digital scorekeeping, the real power behind Darts Atlas is in its rich feature set for league and tournament coordinators. Supported functionality in our beta release includes:

Here’s a little more about how Darts Atlas works:

DartsAtlas.com

Darts Atlas runs as a webpage in any modern browser. Everything that players and coordinators need can be found directly on the site. There are no application downloads or software updates to maintain, and all of the data you see and submit is stored securely and backed up with best-in-class cloud platform providers.

Player Account

Every player uses their free online Darts Atlas account to play matches and to register for tournaments and seasons. Players may personalize their experience with a profile photo, timezone, and nickname.

Matches

The basic unit of the Darts Atlas experience is the Match. Two players (or two doubles teams) play in a match (501, Cricket, or mixed) and record scores just like all of the other digital darts scoreboard you have used previously. Darts Atlas supports in-person and remote matchplay.

Tournaments

Darts Atlas manages player registration and payment, bracket generation, random team generation (for blind draws), and supports both single- and double-elimination formats. Once players have checked-in the tournament director clicks a button to generate the bracket, and players are automatically assigned to their next match at the conclusion of their current one.

Leagues

League play and management is just as seamless and integrated as tournaments on Darts Atlas. Leagues may run many seasons concurrently, and each season is given its own dashboard which includes a live leaderboard and realtime player statistics. Automated leaderboard management exists for Premier League-style tables, or you can publish a custom league leaderboard directly on the seasond dashboard using a single text entry field in your season settings. As with tournaments, your season registrations, payments, scheduling, and match reporting are all automated on Darts Atlas.

Discovery

Atlas isn’t just a word that sounds good after Darts. It refers to a mission of making it easy for players of all ages and abilities to find the darts near them. These discovery features have been built into Darts Atlas from the very start:

Digital Scoreboard & Players Card

Darts Atlas’s software platform is complemented by a unique hardware set that allows players to use their Players Card to seamlessly join matches and register for tournaments without having to sign in. With a single swipe a Players Card allows players to:

The Darts Atlas Scoreboard will be available in mid-2020 for lease by businesses and registered 501(c)(3) organizations. Experimental Players Cards and Card Readers are currently available to Darts Atlas League Partners and pilot program participants in Austin, TX.

The Future

By mid-2020 we expect to be running pilot seasons of College League and the Texas State Championship Series, as well as preparing for the 2020-2021 school year with Junior League. We are always eager to speak with folks who are excited about our vision and who are motivated to bring the darts to their community.
